Greetings,
I learned of WSR macros last week while browsing a Windows support forum. Even as a new WSR user, I could appreciate how valuable this tool could be and promptly downloaded it. The install appeared to work; however, when I double click the icon to execute the tool, nothing seems to happen. In other words, I never see an application window nor do I see the tool icon on the taskbar. Here are some additional details. From the Microsoft site, I downloaded WSR macros version 1 released January 2009. The release notes mention Windows Vista but not Win 7. Is this version of WSR macros compatible with Win 7? Is there a newer version? After double clicking the icon on my desktop, I've opened up the Task Manager to see if anything is happening behind the scenes. No surprise that the tool is not showing on the Applications tab. However, on the Processes tab, WSRmacros.exe is running under my user ID (not system ID). I also checked the security tab on the WSR macros properties. Permissions look good; my user ID has full control just like the system ID. Am I missing any components? Should I uninstall and then reinstall? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. Edited by alassiel - 27/Sep/2011 at 11:42am |

WSRMacros runs in the Processes tab. You should see this icon in the lower right Taskbar. If you right click (not left click) you can select New Speech Macro.
If you need help scripting, you can order WSRMacros: The User’s Guide at:

Ahhhh.....OK, I'm guessing that it's one of the hidden icons. When I boot up my laptop, I'll make sure to show all hidden icons on the right side of the Taskbar. Thanks, Marty! |
