I think I have majorly goofed.

I was attempting to teach WSR my pronounciation of the word "the".

By doing so I deleted it from the WSR dictionary.

Every attempt I make at attempting to retrain it the word "the" it does not.

I think I need to re-install...is there a way to reinstall WSR without reinstalling the whole Operating System?

WSR is tightly integrated to the Vista and Windows 7 Operating System. There is no way short of reinstalling the operating system for reinstalling WSR.

However, are you aware of the Speech Dictionary. This allows you to Add a new word, Prevent a word from being dictated and Edit (Change existing words). I would try adding the word, "the" to the Speech Dictionary before reinstalling operating system.

To open the speech dictionary:
1. Just say, "Open speech dictionary."
2. Right click the microphone icon on the Speech Bar. Click Open the Speech Dictionary.

Another option would be to use the WSRToolkit and add the word "the" as a text macro. In addition there are some other very useful features.
