I just downloaded the WSR Macros program and started it up,
created my first macro ("CopyURL" from Brad Trott's book), saved it
to the macro folder, signed it, etc., but it didn't work. I then thought the problem might be the
security level, so I tried to right click on the program's icon in the system
tray, and it disappeared. In fact, every
time I mouse-over the WSR Macro program's icon in the system tray it vanishes. When I launch the program, and go to Task
Manager, it's not listed as running. It
appears that it may run for an instant, putting the icon in the system tray,
but apparently quits immediately. I restarted
the computer, removed and redownloaded and reinstalled the program, but it
still doesn't work.
I'm really anxious to get this running, but I'm not sure what else to try. I'm running Vista SP1 on an HP tx1000...everything else seems to be OK. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi John, I'm sorry you're having problems with WSRMacros. It could be a couple of things... This has happened to me before when I didn't have a microphone attached to the system. Can you verify one is attached and working properly? When you go to the Control Panel, select Microphone Setup and dictate the "Peter dictates to his computer..." does it pass this test? Brad |

Yes, the microphone is attached and working. I sent an e-mail describing the problem to Rob Chambers at Microsoft, and he replied that this is a known problem for some PCs. He thinks they have a fix, which will be available in the next release.
