Lately I installed a new version of MS Outlook and consequently I exported all my data,but something happened and I lost my data.Fortunately myself helped next tool-
reading contacts from pst files.As far as I remember it is free,besides that tool can eke read contacts from pst, decrypt this file and extract all contacts to *.vcf files.

Andy T,

There actually isn't a Microsoft Outlook email address; instead, you need to ALREADY have an email address that you can use with Outlook. Most web-based email accounts like yahoo.com and gmail.com support using their email addresses with Outlook through a process called POP email support. You need to check with your email provider to see if they support this protocol.

Once you determine that they support this protocol, you can configure Microsoft Outlook to work with your email account. However, you need to make sure you know the configuration information for your email address to fill in all the fields; this would include information such as the incoming server, the outgoing server, and your password. Again, your email provider must provide this information. Look for, or ask them, for information on POP email support.

My macros aren't really organized in a state where handing them off to you would be all that effective. In other words, they're a mess, and it would take hours and hours to organize them and explain them. Sorry.

Thanks for the explanation Russ.

So I take it you must have a Microsoft Outlook email address?

If I say to the screen "Open Microsoft Outlook" it brings up "Welcome to Microsoft outlook 2007 Wizard which will guide you through the process of configuration Outlook 2007"

Then it also says "Configuring Outlook Accounts".

I guess it will not hurt if I go through the process and actually make another email account, will it?

I am just intrigued and interested in what it does.  As I say, it has not been configured yet so I will just have to go through the process, won't I?

Going back to the question of making macros, have you got any very useful command macros that you use?  Can you give me their code and what they actually do?

Andy T,

I briefly used Yahoo Mail with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but I have never used a web-based email program with WSR. If you're having success using your web based email program with WSR, you may want to stick with it.

One advantage of switching to Microsoft Outlook is that it probably has a lot more features than web-based email. Then again, if you don't need those features, why switch? Also, because Outlook probably has a lot more keyboard shortcuts for various functions, it might be easier to create macros for different tasks.

Speaking on the subject of “Microsoft Outlook”, I have 3 web based email accounts but I have not even setup my “Microsoft Outlook” yet.

What do you actually use Microsoft Outlook for?  Is there a different use for this program that has an advantage over the web based email clients?
