Hi Matt,
 

The reason your speech recognition may be turning off instead of going to sleep when you say “stop listening” may be due to power management and conservation of the battery power.

Try plugging in the “mains lead” to your PC and connecting to a wall socket and then say “stop listening”, hopefully you will find your speech recognition will just go to sleep instead of turning off completely.

Only Dragon version 10.1 works with Vista 64 bit operating systems.

It is our experience that users of Dragon Naturally Speaking take a while longer to adjust to WSR.  This is the same problem people use to have when transitioning from WordPerfect to Microsoft Word.

There's no way to train commands.  The problem in this case is that some programs do not record the new paragraph command correctly.  I have this problem in Microsoft Outlook but not in this text box or Microsoft Word.  WSR has a very nice and easy to use macro facility, especially when you use the $15.99 WSRToolkit.  I easily created a new macro called, "Next Paragraph." This just inserts two carriage returns (enter key) when I give the command.

This is not suffering I have ever experienced.  This is also something we have never heard of anyone else experiencing. Right click the microphone icon on the Speech Bar. Click Options and Enable dictation everywhere.

Again, this is something I've never experienced nor have heard of anyone else experiencing.  People wish there was a stop listening command.

First of all I want to thank Marty for helping me to get my microphone set up and even informing me about WSR.  I had previously use DNS 9-5 with Win XP but I could not get it to install properly on this Vista 64 bit machine.  It's taking a little getting used to and I'm not sure if it's as accurate as DNS 9.5 out of the box.  Probably needs more training.  On to my questions.  I notice when I say new paragraph it only moves down one line intead of two.  Is there a way to train commands.  Secondly, if I try to dictate into a web page such as this, the text will not appear as I didtate but after I'm through a box opens with the numbers and possible choices of what I just said.  Is there a way that I can dictate the text as I do in Word?  Lastly, when I say "stop listening" it turns off instead of going into sleep mode.  I know I can say "sleep" but this is different than the tutorial.
