I wonder whether Microsoft knows this is happening? Certainly it couldn't be too difficult for them to fix. :-(

I tried dictating into the Firefox start page search box, and Windows Speech Recognition did indeed crash. (I am using Windows 8.1.) When WSR Macros is not running, the crash does not occur.

I just prevent the crash from occurring by making sure the "Enable dictation scratchpad" option is NOT checked. (This option is in the menu that appears when you right-click on the WSR speech panel.) The workaround would be to use Notepad or some other program for your dictation, and then copy and paste.

-Russ

This has been happening now for a while, and I have no idea why all of a sudden the two programs have become incompatible. Windows speech recognition running by itself, seems to work perfectly fine. Any ideas?
