I noticed that the last message posted in here was from 2008, and I was hoping that things had changed somewhat in the wireless headset market. In fact, I've been looking at this microphone on the EMicrophone website: VXI Xpressway Wireless Bluetooth Headset
This is exactly the kind of wireless headset I've been looking for. Really long battery life, and multiple ways to wear it. The best wireless for use with WSR is the Samson Airline 77.

I bought a BlueAnt Z9i for my iPhone, because of the great reviews and the fact that it had updatable firmware via a USB. This is a dual array, noise canceling mic.

Out of curiosity, I paired it with my PC at work, and ran the acoustic test with DNS Medical 9.5 and it passed with flying colors, better than my regular mic which has a 98% accuracy!
 
Then I tried dictating without any training and it was terrible and useless. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I'm going to train it with WSR if I can. WSR has a shorter training time than DNS. I did not buy this mic for dictation but it would certainly be a nice bonus!
 
This is an update as of November 1, 2008. Using the BT headphones that I bought for my cell phone, I trained with WSR. It took a little longer to finish the first and only training session that I did, probably because this is not the ideal mic. Anyway, tonight I opened Notepad and dictated a few simple sentences and it worked better than I thought. Even got my name right, which was a shocker! Navigating applications it works the best, closing and opening, applications, telling it to start a new paragraph,  etc.  It actually is usable, but given the fact that other mics work better, I am not going to waste any more time. I'm just surprised it worked at all and it did. I should train more, but I am not going to.

I tried switching from my wired headset to bluetooth using a motorola 350 or so I think, and it just wasn't adequate, gave up after a couple weeks of going back and forth.  I now use a Plantronics USB desktop mike and it works pretty well.  My office is relatively quiet now, which helps.

Since Nuance started supplying the Calisto with Dragon 10, the availability has dried up. Because windows speech recognition samples at 16 kHz and Bluetooth transmits at 4 kHz, I highly doubt any Bluetooth headset will work well.  There was a report of someone using a Bluetooth headset for issuing commands with that it would not work for a large vocabulary dictation purpose.

I understand from Martin that, because of the lower sampling rate of Bluetooth, such mics will not work effectively with WSR (for dictation at least).  If anyone has any further thoughts or experiences with using such a mic with WSR, it would be great to hear from them.  Specifically I had wondered if the new Plantronics Calisto Bluetooth mic that is bundled with DNS 10 mobile version might work.
