Whenever I need to use the keyboard while using WSR, the mic picks up the keyboard noise and then types "UP up up up up" and sometimes "if up up up if." So frustrating . . Angry

Any tips for preventing 'clicking' or 'popping' ambient noise that causes certain words to type. "Stop listening" isn't a great option as it messes up my work flow. I have tried to adding 'Up' and 'if' to the dictionary (with recording) but this hasn't helped.

This has been discussed many times here. There are two causes of the problem:

If you already do not have a highly noise canceling microphone like the http://www.emicrophones.com/p-1111-sennheiser-me3-usb-headset.aspx - Sennheiser ME3 etc. you should. Also, a headset microphone element must be positioned at the corner of your mouth and not in front.
Windows Vista and Windows 7 do not handle audio well. The microphone level seems to adjust itself to a higher volume all by itself. eMicrophones addressed this problem in designing the new http://www.emicrophones.com/p-3033-wsrtoolkit-v2.aspx - WSRToolkit V2 which now has a Tune Microphone feature which allows you to set the microphone volume and SNR manually. The changes stay in effect until you run the WSR microphone setup.

"Stop listening" isn't a great option as it messes up my work flow. I have tried to adding 'Up' and 'if' to the dictionary (with recording) but this hasn't helped.

I would not imagine this would work. It is an old Dragon NaturallySpeaking tip from years ago and was not effective in my experience.

Try lowering your input volume. I find it's much more prone to this when the input volume is too hot.
