okey here is the situaion. i am running windows 8. i have windows media player and wsr macros(wicch opens speech recognition as well), to delay start by 30 seconds.
if when the pc starts, i click the "desktop" thubnail, and w8, everything works fine.
IF however i click to start windows media player faster, or i dont click anything at all, and stay on the metroUI then the speech recognition starts, BUT , it dosent get any sound input(although i check my mic and it gets input), and also it can only be turn sleep. bu not off. if i then close wsr and macros, and re open, it works fine! any advice??

Certain Windows applications take longer than others to load the drivers on starting up the computer. Windows audio drivers for microphone and playback needs to load drivers for other applications like speech recognition, Skype, Media Player, etc. simply give it more time to load. After booting the computer, wait to you see the hard disk light stop flashing before you attempt to do anything.
