Thanks for the great mic and soundcard. I am going to be one-handed for a month or two - so am preparing for this.

I have Vista, and using their speech rec. software, which is very accurate. My mailer software is Thunderbird, and I also use second-life for virtual teaching. The problem is that I do not so far seem to be able to dictate emails, or use the software for second life. Is there a workaround, or do I need to get the Dragon software?

Thanks for your help

Great to hear. theBook and Andrea USB-SA are 1 of our 5 best microphones for WSR.

There is a thread in the SpeechComputing forum about Thunderbird and Dragon. I do not believe you will have any better results.

What is recommended with Dragon and you can do with WSR, is dictate to WordPad (in Dragon it is called Dragon Pad) and when finished dictating and correcting automatically transfer the text to the Thunderbird message field. CLICK HERE to go to the thread with the macro called, ")pen dictation box." Scroll down to Gadgetfl's post and copy the Macro into your WSRToolkit's Macro Editor box. Save it as Open dictation box. Then just put your cursor in the Thunderbird message field and say, "Open dictation box."
