I want to programmatically add/edit/remove words and pronunciations from the .dat file under the UserLexicons directory (or more commonly referred to as the "user dictionary"). I would also like to be able to add a recording of the word like the correction dialog for WSR Shared recognizer does through C#. My program is in C# and I would like to utilize the system.speech namespace and not have to utilize SAPI to do so. Anyone?

Sorry I don't know of any way to do that through .NET system.speech.
Does not look like (easy) access to the user dictionaries is even available through SAPI.

my suggestion is to look at the lexicon interface

Oddly enough some sort of code sample is available here
