Hello,

I'm hearing impaired and am wondering if there are other voices freely available for Vista rather than "Microsoft Anna"?

Hello BradT, there is the possibility that there are other voices on your system.  If you open control panel, select ease of access, select speech recognition options, and then select advanced speech options, there is a label marked as text to speech.  When you click that, you will find Voice selection.  When you click the down arrow you may be presented with four choices though the middle two do not work on my system.  The fourth indicated choice however is labeled simple TTS Voice which I find louder than Microsoft Anna.  I hope that it works for you.

Thanks Jerry.  I looked and there is a "Toshiba Adult Male Voice" listed and it sounds better (to me) than Microsoft Anna.

I wish it was free, but the NeoSpeeh "Kate" voice is the best TTS there is.
